Meet your site coordinator
Conor Fowler is the site coordinator at Cherry Hill Elementary. He runs the reading center and will be your go-to source for any questions you may have during your time as a reading partner. He is always available during your tutoring session to share tips and tricks, review lessons, and help keep your student on track.
Conor Fowler
Site Coordinator
Hi, I'm Conor, and this is my second year with Reading Partners and my second year at Cherry Hill Elementary. Before I started working for Reading Partners, I did a few different things: politics, finance, fashion, writing, editing, etc. All of those things were not very rewarding. Eventually, I quit my job, and started volunteering. Of all the places I volunteered, Reading Partners was the best organization, and I felt it allowed me to make the biggest difference in Baltimore. I hope you will walk away from my center and from this school year with a similar opinion. I am extremely excited to start working with all of you.
Meet the Reading Partners team
Linda Meadows
Literacy Lead
Linda Mose Meadows is this year's Literacy Lead at The Cherry Hill Elementary School and couldn't be more excited about the possibility of encouraging young scholars to be confident, enthusiastic readers. Linda has a background in human services, academics, and administration, and is very passionate about spreading encouragement, promoting literacy education, and the cultural arts. Her college education was attained at Howard University, Washington, DC (BA, Liberal Arts) and SUNY at Buffalo (MS, Public Affairs Administration). She has recently relocated from New Haven, Connecticut to Baltimore and excited about all of the wonderful opportunities of embracing the vision of Reading Partners. Her mother, who is a retired English teacher, is equally thrilled that her daughter is helping youngsters to achieve greater academic success through the love of reading!
Pam Bennett
Regional Site Coordinator
Pam Bennett is a Senior AmeriCorps Member Regional Site Coordinator from Silver Spring, MD. She spent her first year of service with Reading Partners as the Site Coordinator at Abbottston Elementary. When she is not working with students to discover the joys of reading, she works with color guard groups that range form third grade students to college level. Overall, she is dedicated to helping students and is delighted to be a part of the Reading Partners puzzle.
Shannon Held
Program Manager
Shannon Held is the program manager supporting Cherry Hill Elementary, and is thrilled to contribute to the Reading Partners team. After completing her bachelor's degree from the University of Pittsburgh, she served as a Teach For America Corps Member teaching elementary literacy in Miami, Florida. Teaching third and fourth grades, she saw the direct and powerful impact that building skills and confidence in reading had on students. During her time in the classroom, she mentored and coached new teachers as a literacy content leader and a Corps Member Advisor. Shannon completed her master's in education from Johns Hopkins University and continues to strengthen her passion for literacy through service to students in Baltimore City.
